Where do the funds raised for Fling in the Spring go?

The Parent Teacher Organization (“PTO”) is an active group of parents, grandparents, teachers, and administrators who plan engaging activities designed to build community, provide support, and ultimately enhance the overall experiences for the students, staff, and families of Wy’East Mountain Academy.

The PTO’s mission is:

  • to promote the well being of the students through active participation in the academy community.
  • to encourage and develop positive relationships between parents, teachers, and other school personnel so that they effectively work together to educate children.

Fulfilling its Mission, the PTO performs the following duties:

  • Community Building: provide continuous outreach to all families for increased participation in events and fundraisers.

  • Family Resource: be knowledgeable in Wy’East’s MVP’s (mission, vision, principles) and Student / Parent Handbook.  Field questions for new families and direct them to available resources utilizing appropriate lines of communication.
  • Fundraising: among other select fundraisers, the PTO works closely with the Development Committee on Wy’East’s annual Good in the Woods fundraiser and PTO's Fling in the Spring.

  • Event Booster: enhance overall experience at select family events including arrival day, Parents Weekend, & Graduation.
